Atlanta Study

A recent study was conducted to measure the exposure that Atlanta college students have to various investment vehicles.  While the majority of students indicated they knew what stocks and bonds were, very few knew the definitions of an annuity or a DRIP.  Only 54% of the students questioned indicated they would immediately invest in their company’s 401k plans upon eligibility.  Interestingly, only 54% knew what a 401k plan was.  It was positive to find that 62% of those surveyed planned to begin investing immediately after employment; but, more significantly, 100% of the students felt a financial planning seminar prior to graduation would be of great benefit to them.  Findings from this research served as the seed for the creation of Wealth Building After Graduation, Inc.
